Prison

In old times, punishment for crimes was usual maiming, exile, or death. In these times of readily available restorative or even resurrection magic, all three have become problematic. Instead, criminals, dissidents and other undesirable elements that can't simply be driven out of a city are locked up in cells for duration ranging from mere days to years and decades.
